Tour description
Galibi has one of the few sandy beaches in Suriname. The Galibi Nature Reserve is located on the northeast coast of Suriname and has an area of 4000 ha. The most important nesting beaches for sea turtles in the West Atlantic region occur in Galibi. This beach is therefore also known for the sea turtles that come here to lay their eggs. The turtles' laying season is from February to August.
During this tour you will stay in the vacation resort of Christiaan kondre, located in the Galibi area at the mouth of the Marowijne River. You will not only discover the tranquility of nature, but you will also get acquainted with the lifestyles of the Indigenous people, especially the Caribbean tribe. In addition, the highlight of the tour is of course the visit to the laying beach of the giant turtles. In the middle of the night, you go out to see the admirable process of laying eggs. An unforgettable evening tour to the laying beaches!
Optionally, it is possible to visit the Tijgerbank, the only sandbank off the coast of Suriname, where you can relax and swim.

From Albina you go by boat in a northerly direction to Galibi. In Christiaankondre stands Myrysji Lodge with a beautiful view of the river. In the afternoon, a village walk is scheduled, during which you will learn about the Indigenous people and their way of life. After dinner, you will take a night cruise to the laying beach of the sea turtles.
